Our Leadership

Dr. Dave Yoon

Lead Pastor, Elder

Dave is a Southern California native and moved to Canada in 2011 for graduate studies (and to experience real winters). He has a PhD in New Testament from McMaster Divinity College, where he has also been teaching Greek. He holds MDiv and ThM degrees from The Master’s Seminary and a BA in psychology from Biola University. He has served as a pastoral leader for about 20 years in churches in California and Ontario. Dave began as the lead pastor at Renforth in November 2019 and is excited to see how God would lead His church to impact her community and bring the message of the hope and life that we have in Jesus. Dave is passionate about the study and interpretation of the Bible, and seeks not only to interpret it in its ancient languages and historical contexts but also to apply biblical truths for life today. He also loves worship and loves that Renforth can be a place where people can come and connect with God through worship.
Along with his ministry responsibilities, Dave stays busy working on writing and publishing projects, having authored and co-edited a number of books and journal articles. He is also a co-blogger at Domain33 with his mentor and friend, Dr. Stanley Porter.
Dave lives in Mississauga, and aside from ministry and academic activities, he enjoys listening to and playing music, eating out with friends (not so much during Covid), doing the minimal workout at the gym (again, not so much during Covid), rooting for his hometown teams–Lakers, Dodgers, Rams, Kings (sorry Toronto fans)–and hanging out with his two boxer pups, Lucy and Winston.

Tracee Pepper

Tracee grew up in a small city, Steinbach, Manitoba. She is the oldest of four children, and her family of origin still resides in Steinbach. At the age of 19, she went to the Dominican Republic on a missions trip for 2½ years. God then called her back to Canada, where she attended Steinbach Bible College, where she received a BA in counselling in 2010. At bible college, she met her husband, Adam, and they were married in October of 2012. Since then, they have been to the DR seven times together for missions. They have a desire and passion to help at-risk children and their families, and they are excited about their calling to serve God in the DR.
Tracee has been the administrator at Renforth since February 2020, and her desire for Renforth is to see the church grow and flourish. Her word for Renforth is: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matt 28:19-20).

Gladis Andrews

Gladis is a native of Southern India (in the city of Chennai/Madras) and moved to Peterborough to pursue graduate studies, where she received an MBA. As a new immigrant to Canada it was hard for her to find the right church initially, but she found her home church at Park St Baptist Church. There, she was involved in the worship team, bible studies, and other activities, but in 2015, Gladis moved to Toronto for work and was connected to Renforth by Park St, with whom she still maintains close relationships. Since then, Gladis has been actively involved at Renforth, serving on the worship team, nursery ministry, small groups, engaging in bible studies, and on the elder team. She is also involved in CBOQ’s Credential Committee and nominated to be a part of CBWOQ’s Uptick Program.
Gladis currently lives in Etobicoke and works at Intact Financial Corporation (BrokerLink) in human resources. In her role, she oversees recruitment for Ontario, Alberta, and the Atlantic provinces, employee relations, and training. During her spare time, she enjoys singing and listening to new worship songs.

She graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in administration and information management, and has worked in various capacities such as human resources, payroll, finance, and facilities management, until she retired a few years ago. She has been at Renforth since 2007, and utilizes her professional experience and knowledge to serve as the treasurer and to oversee the finances of Renforth on the elder team.
Monica is married to Lorris, himself a part of the elder/leadership team until stepping down recently. They are parents to one adult son, and doting grandparents to one grandson. In her spare time, Monica enjoys playing tennis and doing Tai Chi.

Marc Potvin

Elder, Chair

Marc was born and raised in Montreal. Married to Janice, a retired piano teacher, they are parents of three adult children. Marc has served as a pastoral leader in churches and the military chaplaincy for 30+ years before becoming the Pastoral Leaders Development Associate with CBOQ. In this role, he serves pastoral leaders in their formation, accreditation, development, and transitions. He also guides pastoral search committees in their important discernment process.
Marc and Janice came to Renforth in August 2018, shortly after he began his ministry as CBOQ staff. In his spare time, he enjoys walking with his dog and cycling to work.

Evol Wiens

Evol was born in Trinidad and moved to the GTA at a young age. She has worked as a personal support worker and social worker for many years, until she retired a few years ago to take care of her late husband and to focus on serving at Renforth. She has been at Renforth since the mid-1990s and has been involved in various ministries throughout the years. Renforth is the place where she recommitted her life back to God, so it has a special place in her heart. She is passionate about her church and is excited about how God is working through the people here. Her desire for Renforth is that it would flourish and be a beacon of light in this community.
Her hobbies include music and singing, painting, designing, and anything that involves being creative. She also enjoys hanging out with her spunky granddaughter during the week.
